Dr. Winell is the Director of Psychosocial Services in the Department of Psychiatry at Beth Israel Cancer Center in New York City. Dr. Winell practices psycho-oncology, a psychiatry specialization focusing on the evaluation and treatment of the emotional impact and psychiatric complications of cancer and cancer treatments. Dr. Winell graduated from New York Medical College in 1999, did his residency in psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City from 1999-2003, and a fellowship as a Consultation-Liaison in Psychiatry/Psycho-oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City from 2003-2005.
