Rick Owens is an American fashion designer born in Porterville, California, in 1962, known for his dark, minimalist aesthetic and “glunge” style. After studying art and patternmaking, he launched his namesake label in 1994, gaining major recognition after Kate Moss was featured in Vogue Paris. He later moved to Paris, where he became known for his dramatic runway shows and has expanded his brand to include furniture and other ventures. He married French designer Michèle Lamy in 2006.
