I call these works tablets. It is hand built using a thin rectangle of styrofoam, covered with plaster dipped gauze, and a final layering knifed on with modeling compound until smooth.
The tablet is painted with oil paint and hangs on the wall from a wire embedded in the back. The imagery is totemic, the female figure a recognizable iconic form. The use of pattern is a reoccurring motif in my work. I also wanted to mention that I am represented by the High Noon Gallery here in NY.
