Carey Maxon, born in 1978 in Fairfax, CA, received a B.A. in Art History/Studio Art from Barnard College. She lived in rural Italy from 2000-2003, and completed an M.A. in Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology in 2005. She was an analytic candidate at the CG Jung Institute in New York.
Her work has been previously exhibited in New York at Pierogi, Miyakoyo Shinaga Art Prospects, and French Neon and is held in major public collections including the Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.
