DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

 

DAY 1/3RD NOVEMBER : KATHMANDU

ARRIVAL

  • Kathmandu arrival, garland welcome, assistance and transfer to hotel.
  • Rest for the day to overcome long flight and jet lag.
  • Evening, enjoy Nepali dinner with cultural program followed by tour briefing.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel Manaslu in Kathmandu.

(Meal: Welcome Dinner)

 

DAY 2/4TH NOVEMBER : KATHAMNDU SIGHTSEEING

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit to Pashupatinath Temple, a famous Hindu temple at the bank of holy Bagmati River.
  • Afterwards, a drive to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the biggest and most beautiful Stupas in the world.
  • Spend time around Stupa over lunch.
  • In the late afternoon, drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square, also called Kasthamandap, where you can see living goddess, Kumari.
  • Walk around to the Freak Street, which used to be very famous in early 1960s to late 1970s for hippies.
  • Dinner at local restaurant.
  • Overnight stay at hotel in Manaslu in Kathmandu.

DAY 03/5th NOVEMBER:

DRIVE TO KHOPASI (1.5 HOURS), HIKE TO BALTHALI (1 HOUR)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to south east part of Kathmandu to a local village called Khopasi via Panauti, which is one of the ancient towns of Kathmandu Valley.
  • In route, once we leave Bhaktapur city, the country side shows within a 30 minute drive filled with golden rice terraced fields. We might see people harvesting rice and take the opportunity to participate with them.
  • Once we reach Khopasi, we spend a little time at the village and hike for around 1 hour to our resort in Balthali. We will cross a few suspension bridges over small rivers through rice fields and villages.
  • Lunch at the resort followed by a visit to local villages around Balthali.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the resort in Balthali.

Deciding to come to Balthali is deciding to go far off the beaten path. Till now the resort has been a closely guarded secret kept by serious mountain bikers, hikers, and of course, writers.

DAY 04/6th NOVEMBER:

HIKE DOWN TO KHOPASI (45 MINUTES) AND DRIVE TO PANAUTI (15 MINUTES)

  • Wake up early to enjoy the Sunrise (Weather Condition) over the Valley and Mountains.
  • Breakfast followed by a hike down to Khopasi and a drive back to Panauti.
  • At the confluence of the Roshi and Punyamati rivers, and believed to be situated on one single rock, is a historical Newar town that is one of the oldest in the Kathmandu valley. We spend time visiting local people, rice fields and many more.
  • We are spending a night at a local home to experience Nepalese hospitality, culture and cuisine.
  • Dinner and Overnight at Home stay in Panauti.

DAY 05/7TH NOVEMBER:

WITNESS EARLY MORNING ACTIVITIES AND DRIVE BACK TO BHAKTAPUR

  • In the early morning, observe local people’s activities of worshiping god and goddess in the temple and take some photos before Sunrise.
  • Breakfast at the local house and a drive to another beautiful city in Dhulikhel; a hill station equipped with a few old houses dated back 200 years. We will spend a couple of hours at the local town and drive back to Bhaktapur.
  • Check-in into hotel in Bhaktapur, an ancient Newari town which is also called city of living museum and city of devotees.
  • Spend half the day walking around the square to see various monuments and pottery square.
  • In the Evening, walk around to the Palace to capture the daily rituals of the local people and the monuments.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Bhaktapur.

DAY 06/8TH NOVEMBER:

KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING

  • In the morning, we will head to the square to capture the daily rituals of the local people of Bhaktapur.
  • Return to the hotel for breakfast.
  • Drive to another square in Lalitpur, Patan Durbar Square. Patan boasts of many famous sites and unique architecture. One of the best examples of stone architecture in the world, scenes from Mahabharat, Asia’s greatest mythological war, is carved on the temple’s walls.
  • Lunch followed by a drive to Swyombhunath Stupa, also called Monkey Temple. This Stupa is in a small hill of Kathmandu overlooking Kathmandu valley and the surrounding mountains.
  • Sightseeing and then a drive back to Thamel.
  • In the evening you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the nicest restaurants.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel Manaslu in Kathmandu.

DAY 07/9TH NOVEMBER:

DEPARTURE FROM KATHMANDU

  • If interested, before breakfast we walk to Ason. It is a lively shopping place for local people.
  • Spend some time taking photos.
  • Later, we will walk to the hotel for breakfast.
  • Enjoy free time until your transfer to airport for departure; Kathmandu to Dhaka.
