Image Description:

“As a small scale entrepreneur, I spend time examining other business models and what I can learn from them. Recently I thinking about how do all-you-can-eat buffets make money? This lead to an inevitable internet tangent revealing their stomach filling strategies and articles about people who have received lifetime bans from said restaurants. The whole thing reminded me of PAC-MAN and his insatiable appetite for those savory dots lined in those haunted mazes. Naturally, the image above is the result that needed to happen. The painting is also a tribute to 80’s arcade nostalgia and America’s love of Diners.”

Artist Bio :

Jono Doiron started drawing at a young age and does not remember a time when he didn’t want to be an artist or have a strong appreciation for characters and cartoons. His earliest memories of art consist of watching cartoons and studying comics in the newspaper. Originally, Jono had plans to become a newspaper cartoonist and drew original comic strips he would photocopy, staple and divvy out to friends. After high school, Jono’s focus shifted to a career in animation and in September 2004, he was enrolled in a three year animation and fine arts program which taught him painting, drawing, sculpture and anatomy.

After graduating in 2007, Jono worked as an animator and cleanup artist on shows such as ‘Johnny Test’, ‘Busytown Mysteries’ and ‘Razzberry Jazzberry Jam’. In 2009, is focus shifted to pursue painting while combining his love of cartoons, humor and storytelling. His work has since been exhibited in galleries across North America. Today, Jono calls himself a freelance illustrator and fine artist creating work for exhibitions, companies and private clients. His work is held in private collections in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany. In 2017, he was featured on The Space Channel as a notable artist to watch.
