Sarah Detweiler is a Philadelphia area-based, mixed  media painter. Her experiences as a woman and  mother are explored through figurative narratives  created with a combination of embroidery with oil,  acrylic, gouache, and watercolor. Sarah has shown her  work in solo and group exhibits across the country.  Most recently, she has exhibited in two shows curated  by Danielle Krysa (The Jealous Curator) and with  Paradigm Gallery in Philadelphia.

Sarah’s featured  Hidden Mother collection show with Paradigm in  July 2020 sold out on opening night. She released  her second Hidden Mother collection, “mOTHER”,  as her first solo show with Paradigm in April 2021.  Her work has been published in Create Magazine,  Artit Magazine, MILKED Magazine,and Uppercase  Magazine. Sarah’s art centers around themes of  fertility, motherhood, female empowerment, the  human experience, and the rainbow as an archetype.
